The Chongqing Kaizhou Museum is located in the middle section of the most beautiful lakeside park in Kaizhou, and together with the Kaizhou Planning Museum, it forms a "two in one" urban landmark building that integrates traditional culture, local characteristics, and the spirit of the times. The construction began in October 2011 and was fully opened to the outside world in May 2014. The Kaizhou Museum in Chongqing is a comprehensive historical museum, a national tertiary museum, a national AAA level tourist attraction, a demonstration base for party member education in Kaizhou District, and a demonstration base for "research travel" in Kaizhou District. The cultural relics in the museum are mainly unearthed from the Kaizhou area, and there are also some folk cultural relics passed down. The collections of Kaizhou Museum from various historical periods have distinct regional cultural characteristics and rich connotations, among which fossils from the Triassic century, bronze weapons unearthed from Yujiaba during the Warring States period (the Yujiaba site was rated as one of the top ten important archaeological discoveries in the Three Gorges in 2003), pottery and bronze artifacts unearthed from the Honghua Cliff Tomb in Zhuxi during the Han Dynasty, Southern Song Longquan Kiln porcelain unearthed from the Song Dynasty Hot Spring Cellar, and court shadow puppets collected by the Qing Dynasty Museum are the most distinctive, Fully showcasing the unique historical and cultural heritage of ancient Kaizhou. The exhibition at the Kaizhou Museum in Chongqing includes basic displays such as "Splendid Kaizhou" and special displays such as "Memories of the Old City", "People of Kaizhou", and "Shadow Play Charm".
