Hanfeng Lake AAAA Scenic Area

Hanfeng Lake is located next to the urban area of Kaizhou in the northeast of Chongqing. It spans 12.51 kilometers from east to west, 5.86 kilometers from north to south, and has a water area of 15 square kilometers. It is an artificial lake formed due to the construction of the Yangtze River Three Gorges Project and is the largest inland lake in the Three Gorges Reservoir Area.

Hanfeng Lake has a water storage capacity of 80 million cubic meters, with over 30 bays and 41 islands. It boasts cultural and natural landscapes such as lakeside wetlands, wind and rain covered bridges, Kaizhou Juzi Garden, Nanshan Forest Park, Dajue Temple, and Comrade Liu Bocheng Memorial Hall. It also offers tourism products such as wetland bird watching, lotus fishing, boating tours, water weddings, and sports and leisure activities.

In October 2012, Hanfeng Lake Scenic Area was awarded the title of "National Water Conservancy Scenic Area". In December 2014, Hanfeng Lake Scenic Area was rated as a national AAAA level tourist attraction. In December 2015, Hanfeng Lake was selected as one of the 30 best new tourist attractions in the Three Gorges of the Yangtze River. In January 2022, Hanfeng Lake Scenic Area was awarded the title of "Chongqing Civilized Unit"
